Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Sunshine Clothing Company is a “go green” clothing store. We buy, sell and trade high-end clothing for teens and young adults. We found the store and created our dream of what we wanted it to look like.

What was your first job, and what did you learn from the experience?

DR: Dairy Queen when I was 16. I learned that if you mess up the Dilly Bars, you have to eat them.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

We are involved with our community by helping with green initiatives. We will also be displaying artwork from local students, and hope to become involved with the high school booster clubs. We also donate a portion of our clothes to The Powerhouse Ministries, and whatever they cannot use they pass on to Twin Lakes Food Bank.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

We are family and we care.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

DR: Having three awesome sons, one of whom is my business partner, another is attending California State Los Angeles, and the other is attending the University of Washington.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

To the American River for a swim.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Meeting new people and being part of an awesome community.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

We haven’t been here long enough, but so far we really like Hop Sing Palace in Historic Folsom.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

Thursday Night Market in Historic Folsom.

If you could be in any other profession, what would it be?

None, this is what we’ve always wanted to do.

And finally, customer service is…?

Being the friendliest, along with truly believing that the customer comes first!
