Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

In Bloom is a hair and makeup studio located inside Sola Salon in Folsom. We specialize in custom hair design and makeup for clients in an extremely private setting. Sola Salons do an excellent job of understanding the beauty industry and are definitely the rave of the future.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

CM: We are very involved and provide donations for charity events and donate our services regularly for such foundations as Fund for the Homeless and the Foster Youth Education fund; as well we donate to the Bulldogs Football Crab Feed. My daughter and I are also excited to attend the Fashion for the Cure event in L.A. to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Foundation. I will be working with the Unite team backstage preparing models who have survived breast cancer. 

Why is your staff the best in the business?

Our staff is dedicated to continuing our education. We stay inspired by attending product and application classes regularly. I have been a hairdresser for 22 years, and my colleague Frank Varner has been hairdressing for 15 years. Our certified makeup artists graduated from VIP-Cat Makeup Academy. We all are committed to providing great services in an environment that is friendly and welcoming.

What’s your hidden talent?

CM: My hidden talent is jumping horses. There is a lot that goes into making a jump course look effortless on an animal that sometimes doesn’t get why we go up and over instead of around.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

CM: I would be honored to meet Michelle Obama. She does an amazing job presenting her self in public. Her style is perfect and she embodies the strength that I admire in women today.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

CM: Definitely Folsom Live!

And finally, customer service is…?

It is listening to what your clients need. We take pride in what we do and each and every client that walks through the door must feel satisfied because they are our walking advertisements. We love making people look beautiful and feeling their very best! We make sure to keep current with styles and trends and want to deliver the best every time. Every one of us are In Bloom!
