Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I am in the mortgage loan business. My main focus is First Time Buyer Educational Workshops. It found me! Helping people become more educated about buying homes is something that I have passion for, and I want to help people understand the basics of purchasing a home and make the first experience enjoyable.

That was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

Telemarketing for Kirby Vacuum – I had to set appointments for the sales people to do demonstrations. I learned to not take things personal and to keep making the calls no matter how many people hung up on me, because I knew someone would want an appointment.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I am just getting back into the business world after being at home raising my two girls. I just became a member of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce to get more involved with my community. I want to meet more first time homebuyers and help educate them, as well as help remedy our housing crisis. I also help current homeowners refinance and/or buy new homes.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

Personal touch, honesty and patience.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Raising my two girls.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My mom – she taught me to trust myself.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

The gym. It is the cheapest therapy.

What’s your biggest job perk?

I get to be part of the biggest purchase that a person will make in their life.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Chicago Fire Pizza.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

The bike trails, the Folsom parks and the library.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Family trips every summer with my brothers and sister.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

The ice skating rink in the winter.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

Trader Joe’s.

If you could be any other profession what would it be?

An actress.

And finally, customer service is…?

The most vital part of my business. Customer service can make or break a company. Happy clients equal a happy business.
