Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

It basically found me. A series of chance encounters and spontaneous suggestions 25 years ago led me to the Merrill Lynch office in Sacramento, known at the time to be the finest company for training new financial advisors. I found my calling and the rest is history. I work primarily with individuals, fiduciaries and small businesses, dedicating my practice to assisting clients in creating, preserving and distributing their wealth.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

Babysitting! I learned patience, focus and creative thinking!

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I’ve always been active in the community, and have served on the Boards of Soroptimist International, FamiliesFirst and NAWBO. If you want to make the world a better place, you have to be willing to work.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Of course my family is awesome. My wonderful husband recently retired from the CHP after 30 years of dedicated service. Our twin daughters just finished their first year at a university, and our grown sons are building their own families and lives.
In business, I’m most proud of being invited to sit on the board of directors of the Investment Management Consultants Association and of obtaining my CIMA® and CFP® designations.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I take my 27-foot rowing shell out to Lake Natoma and I “smell the water.”

And finally, customer service is…?

The only part of a business you can truly control. It needs to be exceptional.
