Firstly, a long awaited congrats goes to the women of the Johnson Ranch Racquet Club 3.5 team of Roseville! After 17 years of trying, these tennis stars qualified for the USTA National Championship in Tucson, AZ, set for October 16-18, after winning the Northern California Championship this past August. We wish you the best this month!

Sutter Roseville Medical Care has for the second time, ranked among the top 10 percent of hospitals for maternity care. Sutter Roseville was also awarded the “HealthGrades Maternity Care Excellence” title and a five-star rating. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations to the Lakeside Little League players for going all the way (almost) in the 2009 Little League World Series! The 12-year-olds from Granite Bay and Loomis were only one game away before being defeated by the eventual World Champion Chula Vista team.

Roseville Chamber’s BECOME Committee presents its 19th Annual Principal for a Day. Participants will experience being in the “principal’s shoes” for one day. The program begins with a kick-off breakfast on October 6, at 7:30 a.m., at Maidu Community Center.

Congratulations to Roseville High School junior student Connor W. Eggleston, who was recently selected to become a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

And, Brian Holland, a Rocklin High School alumnus is now serving as the Battalion Commander for the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program at San Diego State University for the 2009-2010 school year. Congrats!

On Sunday, October 25, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., bring five cans of food and receive a 5 x 7 photo of your child, to be taken by Enchanted Images. Canned food donations will go to the Placer Food Bank.
