Kaye Culver is the president of the board for Hope House in Diamond Springs, a shelter for homeless women with children, founded by the Green Valley Church.

As the president, Culver directs the operation of the wonderful institution, providing a 12-18-month long program for homeless mothers and their children. There are over 200,000 homeless children in the United States – Hope House is doing its part to reduce the number in the El Dorado County area and beyond.

In the coming year, Culver is also sitting as the vice president of the 70-year-old Placerville chapter of Soroptimist International. She is the co-owner of the Camino Flower Shop, and belongs to the chamber of commerce, does funeral support for the Green Valley Church, and she is active in the El Dorado Women’s Fund group. And, perhaps most importantly, she is the grandmother of a four-month-old baby boy!

Culver says, “My business partner, Dottie McKenzie, is really focused on the operations of the shop so that I can focus on the outside functions. We feel that giving back to the community is very important, and we are blessed to have a partnership that can make that work.” She commits much time to the community in a number of ways. “From a business perspective, we have been so blessed, and we feel strongly about the community that supports us.
