Visitors to Sonoma are privy to a prime vantage point from which to explore and experience the fashionable rusticity and outright fabulousness of the Wine Country and all it offers – world-class cuisine, soothing hot springs and mineral baths, olive oil as delectable as the wine, and downright unreal places to stay like The Lodge at Sonoma.

We recently visited the refurbished Renaissance Spa and Resort property, located just minutes from the heart of Sonoma’s charming town center (itself absolutely endearing) and discovered unpretentious yet amenity-rich accommodations. After sprawling out in our spacious cottage rooms and cozy suites, we meandered to the progressive Raindance Spa, a warm sanctuary with friendly technicians and a comprehensive treatment menu. Then off to sample the mouthwatering cuisine from the kitchen of Carneros Bistro and Wine Bar, offering a stellar selection of cuisine to complement its equally impressive wine list and related social happenings, including celebrity wine-tendering and educational lectures. All of the aforementioned luxuries and additional worthy comforts make The Lodge at Sonoma perfect for a weekend getaway or weeklong escape. Personally, our stay was so spectacular we considered taking up residence.
