Introducing...Miss Mellow

Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Chocolate Topped Marshmallows for all occasions. We took the simple marshmallow and turned it into a delicious gourmet treat. They’re sweet and mellow-licious tiny works of art with over 16 tantalizing toppings. Miss Mellow Marshmallows are perfectly sized portions of personal happiness to satisfy any sweet tooth. As I laid there in bed, I thought of how I could share my creations with the rest of the world. The next morning I called my sister and told her my plan, and from that day forward we have put together what Miss Mellow is today. We started planning in 2007, and launched our Web site in July 2008.

What was your vision when you first started your business and what is it now?

Our vision when we first started was to offer the finest quality and best tasting marshmallows ever. We wanted to provide a product that delights the taste buds. Customer satisfaction is what we strive for. We truly want to share Miss Mellow with the rest of the country. Everyone should be able to try Miss Mellow Marshmallows at least once. We will grow our business to reach everyone across the U.S. and give exceptional customer service to everyone we serve.

What is the best part of doing business in this community?

Getting to meet new customers and the wonderful feedback on how amazed people are with the creativeness of the business. The community is excited to have Miss Mellow in their backyard.

What was your first job, and what did you learn from the experience?

KE: I worked at Zips Hot Dogs, preparing and serving hot dogs. Customer Service is what I learned most. I believe in treating the customer like I would want to be treated.
KB: At First American Title, I learned about customer relationships, being a team player, timelines and keeping customers happy. 

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

We provide charitable donations in and around the community. We donate boxes of our marshmallows to different organizations for events. We work one on one with our customers from the time they sign up through the delivery. We also have a box called “Tickle Me Pink” and $1 from every box sold goes to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Having the guts to start our own business. The hard work it took to create Miss Mellow was worth every minute. We both feel so passionate about our business and it makes us feel like we can conquer the world.

And finally, customer service is…?

Customer Service starts with attitude. The key to extraordinary customer service is to be passionate and enthusiastic and this will infect you, employees and customers.
