Les Christie loves his job and his students. As an energetic speaker, author, and William Jessup University Youth Ministry Chair, he educates adults on how to work with teenagers.

And, in his 40 years in youth ministry he has traveled to 48 states and 13 foreign countries helping people do what he does best. As a teen, Christie found himself struggling in life until somebody helped him. It was then that he decided he wanted to be able to do that for someone else. “I first thought I wanted to be a CPA, but then decided it would be too boring,” Christie jokes. So he decided to work with teens. “Teenagers are at a great age, they are still moldable but are able to think, communicate and raise questions,” Christie says.

After working for nearly 20 years at the same church, Christie has found his niche at William Jessup University. The school offers him the opportunity to work with small class sizes, allowing him more interaction and camaraderie with his students, which is perhaps his favorite part of the job. “I love teaching at William Jessup,” he states, “especially when it comes to training adults who are going to be working with teens.” And Christie seems to have no plans of stopping. “I love to write, travel and teach,” he says. “I couldn’t ask for a better job description.” Christie’s 15th book will come out this September, entitled, Awaken Your Creativity: Hearing Yes in the Midst of a Multitude of No’s.
