Placerville resident Susie Davies has been with Mother Lode Rehabilitation Enterprises (MORE), for 26 years. When MORE first opened its doors, Davies was fresh out of her occupational therapy internship.

She soon found an opportunity to work with special education schools. “At that time I thought, what a wonderful coincidence and how lucky I was! Now I know there are no coincidences in life! I landed a job serving a population that I love,” says Davies.

MORE is a non-profit organization in Placerville dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities. Established in 1973, MORE provides daily support to 200 individuals through social and vocational training and by providing work opportunities.

Davies is passionate about supporting children, people with disabilities, and non-profit groups. She has served on the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Kiwanis Club of Placerville, coordinating such things as the Easter Egg Hunt, Fishing Derby, Key Club, and scholarships for youth. She has served on the Job One Board, The Women’s Fund of El Dorado County, El Dorado Transit Advisory Committee, Folsom Lake College board, Non-Profit Advisory Committee, Placerville Drive Business Association, and Elder Services Coalition. “I have been serving people with DD for 37 years and look forward to work every day, no kidding!” Davies exclaims.
