BOOKS

THEN:
North River by Pete Hamill
Author Pete Hamill (Forever) never writes novels so much as love letters to the city of New York. North River tells the quietly gripping story of New York during the Depression, and a widowed war-veteran doctor struggling to care for his small grandson. It’s incredibly evocative and highly recommended.

NOW:
The Given Day by Dennis Lehane
No matter how many great books Lehane writes (Gone Baby Gone, Mystic River), he always finds new ways to share his love for his hometown of Boston. In this new stand-alone novel, Lehane digs deep into the history of his beloved city and brings forth a riveting story of redemption and family ties.
