The California State Railroad Museum is a great place for kids and adults alike to learn about one of the pivotal industries in California and have the opportunity to see old locomotives and rail cars firsthand. To combine the educational experience with a holiday activity, visit the museum on Thanksgiving weekend for a ride through Old Sacramento with Santa Claus, or during December for train rides themed after The Polar Express, featuring a narration of the story, cookies and hot chocolate. csrmf.org.
