Susan Lee, Mrs. El Dorado County 2009, is the founder of BeAttitudes In Me, a non-profit organization that was founded to help children of all ages develop confidence, learn to capitalize on their strengths, and appreciate the beauty of differences in their peers. “BeAttitudes such as: Be Polite, Be Respectful, and Be Forgiving ground children with the valuable roots needed as they go through school and into adulthood,” says Lee. BeAttitudes In Me partners with the community to develop activities that support the BeAttitudes such as poster and story contests, book clubs and charity projects. Susan is working to integrate the BeAttitudes In Me into the after school programs in El Dorado County. Each month, one BeAttitude is spotlighted as the month’s theme to provide time to practice each value introduced. “I would like to use El Dorado County as the example to be able to go into all the surrounding counties and eventually throughout California and then the rest of the United States,” Lee passionately says.

On a personal level, Lee is very involved with her husband and children, loves to make handwritten cards and letters, and gives God credit as her biggest inspiration.
