Then & Now

THEN:
Sound Affects, The Jam
In the canon that is punk music, The Jam is Shakespeare. Biting social commentary and incisive lyrics, couched within a 60s throwback style of music, The Jam redefined the very meaning of punk. Songs like “That’s Entertainment” elevated the genre to something more than youthful rebellion. All this, without a single Mohawk.
NOW:
22 Dreams, Paul Weller
Paul Weller: man or machine? Launched not one but two seminal bands (The Jam, and The Style Council) and still enjoys a hugely successful solo career. The “modfather” just keeps going. Lost his shine? Hardly. This new album was his third number one solo album in the UK… suffice it to say, he doesn’t disappoint!
