2006 Las Locas Old Vine Grenache/Syrah
What’s better than a barbeque in July? For me, nothing! I have spent many summers outside tending my grill with a glass of wine in one hand and tongs in the other. So what’s in the glass? My wine of choice this summer is the 2006 Las Locas Old Vine Grenache/Syrah blend from Spain. The body is light and the flavors are fresh, a perfect summer red.
A refreshing blend of 93 percent Grenache and 7 percent Syrah, the Las Locas is dark purple in color with aromas of cherry, fennel and pepper. In the mouth, the flavors of fresh, bright red fruit, predominantly cherries and plums and finishes with nice acidity and a pinch of white pepper. This flavor combination pairs perfectly with the sweet and savory characteristics of barbecue.
Serve Las Locas chilled, or in your favorite Sangria recipe and you will love every drop. Either way, it’s a refreshing addition to your barbecue menu.
