Vino Noceto Tutti i Giorni Nutz! 2006
Jim and Suzy Gullett in the Shenandoah Valley of Plymouth, California, founded Vino Noceto Winery and Vineyards in 1987. Noceto means “walnut orchard” in Italian, so it was a perfect name considering the many walnut trees surrounding their ranch home. Jim knew that warm weather grapes would be best suited for the Shenandoah Valley, and decided that Sangiovese would be their cornerstone.
Sangiovese is grown extensively in central Italy and forms the basis for many popular wines, however, in California it is still considered a boutique wine. Vino Noceto’s first vintage was their 1990, 100 percent Sangiovese, made in a Chianti-Classico style.
The “Tutti i Giorni” Nutz! 2006 is a light, fruity, 50 percent Sangiovese, 50 percent Barbera blend, red table wine that has versatility and everyday drinkability. And, aptly named Tutti i Giorni, it translates to “everyday” in Italian. Nutz! is a delicious everyday table wine, which shows a wonderful cherry quality and drinks very easily. It is well suited for almost any meal, especially for barbecue fare, and an ideal warm weather red wine. Get it before it's gone, their supply is limited and is usually sold out by mid-July!
