HIKE ON WINDY POINT TRAIL-NEAR COLFAX
Evan Jones will lead this hike along a little-known spring wildflower wonderland above the scenic North Fork American River. We will visit an 1851 stage road, a 1928 suspension bridge, see famous Cape Horn railroad outlook and the historical Dinner Tree. Geology, biota, mining and railroad history of the local area will be discussed. This is a 4 mile moderately strenuous hike with 1000 ft. elevation change. Ages 10+ welcome.
