Folsom History Museum presents "And It Grew Into a Zoo: the fascinating story of the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary" from January 28th through March 18th. The exhibit will be held  at the Folsom History Museum, 823 Sutter Street, in Folsom. Hours for the exhibit are Tuesday through Sunday from 11am to 4pm.

In 1960 word got around that the Folsom Superintendent of Parks would take in injured and unwanted wild animals.  Today the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is home for over 100 wild animals rescued from death, but unable to live in the wild. 

In addition to the story of the zoo, this exhibit features biofacts (claws, teeth, skulls etc.) of wild animals native to northern California as well as artwork created by the zoo residents.

Admission is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for youth. Children under 12 years old and Folsom Historical Society members are free.
