Services or products you offer: I’m a consultant who works with parents having trouble understanding the process of getting services for their children with special needs or who need help advocating for the services they feel their children need. It's an incredibly complex system with many acronyms and complicated language and can be a stressful time; I’m here to help parents understand the process and feel comfortable.

What you enjoy most about your profession: I’ve worked in a variety of educational roles over the past 30 years—from a teacher to a superintendent—but my passion has always been helping students with special needs and supporting their parents. My own child had a disability, so I was able to experience what parents go through myself and feel it helped me better understand that perspective. All kids have things they shine at, and all kids have areas where they struggle. I’m passionate about celebrating this and supporting parents as they continue the education journey.

Fun fact about your company: Students don’t need to have severe needs to benefit from an advocate; in fact, sometimes those with less severe needs can use the support more, since it’s easier for them to fall through the cracks.

Customer service is: The most important thing! I rely on repeat clients and having them share their positive experiences with others.

Most memorable experience as an entrepreneur: Expressing my creativity with building my business. And, of course, getting the opportunity to help my first parent.
