Photos by Wes Davis
Approximately 2,300 visitors enjoyed performances by Melanin Day School and Celebration Arts, a keynote talk with Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Darrin Bell, hands-on artmaking, and community dancing led by Cosmic Roots and DJ Hustle at this free, family-friendly festival. The event—co-organized by Shonna McDaniels of the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum—closed with a community rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
