Foodie Find: 99 Ranch Market in Folsom

99 Ranch Market, a shiny new hub for Asian-American groceries at competitive prices, offers cuisine too—with a deliciously authentic dim sum bar featuring traditional favorites like pot stickers and rice dumplings, along with exotic entrées such as minced green pastries. With my face pressed against the bar’s glass, mouth watering at the thought of devouring these foreign delicacies, I grabbed a pan fried radish cake, pork and shrimp shu mai, pot sticker, shrimp har gow and—to top it off—an egg roll. Why not go big when you can load up on these enticing offerings for one flat price? Though I enjoyed every last bite, I must admit: The radish cake was the one having my palate longing for more. Fried to a crisp golden brown, my tastebuds rejoiced with the soft, fluffy middle that released savory flavors of bold radish, dried shrimp, and sharp hints of pepper. It comes as no surprise that dim sum translates to “touch the heart,” as these snacks will not only fill your stomach with delectable goodness, but your heart too. 99 Ranch Market, 25000 Blue Ravine Road, Suite 103, Folsom. 916-984-6899.
