“Although there are many tantalizing varieties of handcrafted gelato offered at Zia’s Italian Caffe & Gelato Bar (not a single one will disappoint!) I especially love their olive oil, made using local artisanal ingredients. The unique flavor is perfectly creamy and decadent, rich and smooth. Bellissima!”

“Sometimes you just need a tried-and-true, old-fashioned treat. The Original Mels serves up a killer single-scoop Ice Cream Sundae with your choice of ice cream and sauce, plus whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. I keep it classic with vanilla and hot fudge…hold the nuts!”

“My go-to ice cream-inspired treat is El Churro at Mexquite. It’s hard to go wrong with deep-fried dough that’s been saturated with cinnamon and sugar, but add creamy vanilla ice cream to the mix and it goes from bueno to muy bueno!”

“Ice Cream Sandwiches are just about the best thing ever (especially when they’re $3.50 on Thursdays!), so it’s no surprise that I’m a sucker for the offerings at Jake’s Desserts. There’s no ‘wrong’ flavor combo to order, but I like to rewind to childhood with two scoops of homemade cupcake ice cream sandwiched between M&M cookies.”

“More often than not blended coffee drinks are heavy on the ice and light on the coffee and creaminess. Thankfully, this is not the case when ordering a Frappé at Nicholson’s MusiCafe. Made by blending Island Oasis ice cream and espresso, then topped with the requisite whip and a drizzling of chocolate sauce, each sip is a perfect mix of caffeine and sweet, milky goodness.”
