Cafe C

 In no particular order...

Café C in El Dorado Hills has the most delish Mac ‘N Cheese I’ve ever tasted! It must be some special French cheese Yvan (the chef) uses—I’m not quite sure—but it’s so yummy and a favorite of many I know.” 916-934-0734

“Land Ocean has a Vegetarian Frittata on its brunch menu that’s a three-egg skillet with a savory blend of country potatoes, Gruyere, Cheddar, sautéed spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes. You know after the first bite that you’re in for a delicious culinary experience. It’s served with sourdough toast, and with any entrée you can add a bottomless mimosa for $8. Now that’s a breakfast of champions!”

“The House Made Black Bean Burger at Folsom Tap House gives any beef burger a run for its money. Even my carnivorous friends go gaga for the protein- and flavor-packed patty. Topped with sharp white Cheddar, guacamole, lettuce, tomato and almond pesto, and loaded onto a Bella Bru brioche bun, you definitely won’t be missing any meat here!”

“The Whole Roasted Cauliflower with almond romesco and chimichurri sauce at Milestone Restaurant is divine. The caramelization adds richness and the sauces give depth to this anything-but-boring vegetable. I split one with a friend and it was so good that we ordered another!”

“Risotto may be tough to perfect, but I’m happy to report that Bacchus House Wine, Bar & Bistro has their Fall Vegetable Risotto down to a T. Studded with winter squash, carrots, spinach, bell peppers, leeks and wild mushrooms, it’s colorful and rich with a silky, creamy texture; and despite having the option to add grilled chicken or shrimp, I’m a happy camper ordering it as-is.”
