Catch All: Roseville Firefighters' Charity Crab Feed

Jan 27, 2016 10:25AM ● By David Norby

“We really wanted to take the crab feed to the next level,” says Eric Sanchez, head organizer of the Roseville Firefighters’ Charity Crab Feed, which takes place February 20 at the Mahany Sports Center. Sanchez has a lot of respect for the guys who started this event 18 years ago, and when he took the lead, it was important to partner not only with a local charity in Roseville city limits, but one that had the network to truly benefit from this type of event. KidsFirst provides counseling, resources and coping strategies to vulnerable families to help end child abuse and neglect. Their big, far-reaching base brings donors and supporters to the crab feed year after year, allowing the firefighters to stretch their cooking muscles for a cause they feel strongly about. After some fresh crab and Cajun shrimp comes a late-night dance party with a no-host bar. “We work with a gentleman called MR DJ, and the atmosphere he creates really keeps people coming back...the dance floor is packed,” says Sanchez.
