Irecently popped into Shave Monster after working out, because—let’s face it—after a long week and killer sweat sesh, a little bit of sweetness is deserved! This Asian version of a frozen yogurt shop specializes in snow fluff, a milk-based version of shaved ice, but also serves regular ice cream, mochi, smoothies, slushes and Thai and bubble teas. It’s frankly mind-boggling how many flavors and topping selections the swanky shop offers—the combinations are endless—but I indulged in the Honeydew Snow Fluff with Passion Fruit Boba (jelly pearls that pop in your mouth) and a Passion Fruit Bubble Tea (with more jelly pearls inside). The light, smooth texture and passion fruit jelly bombs were so worth potentially spoiling a workout over, but the most beautiful thing about snow fluff isn’t that it comes out as thin ribbons of deliciousness, but that it has all the flavor and satisfaction of regular ice cream—if not more—with less calories. There’s plenty of seating and funky island music, so it’s a great place to chill out with friends or family. When it comes to finding a sweet spot with cool treats, Shave Monster freezes out the competition.
