In no particular order...

  •  “I always order the Uncle Leo Benedict with a Mimosa at Venita Rhea’s in Rocklin. There’s no better way to rise and shine than by devouring roasted bell peppers, onions, shredded pork and perfectly poached eggs smothered in rich hollandaise sauce on ciabatta bread. A glass of Champagne-spiked OJ is the icing on the cake.”
  • “My favorite morning meal is, hands down, the Lemon Yogurt Pancakes at Katrina’s Café in Auburn. Served three up and rolled to resemble crepes then dusted with powdered sugar and a dash of lemon juice, they’re moist, zingy and tasty sans syrup. They’re huge too, so depending on your hunger level, you’ll likely have leftovers for lunch.”
  •  “The Crab Cake and Avocado Benedict with Hash Browns at Ginger’s in Roseville is a morning meal of champions. One bite into the creamy avocado, crispy crab cakes, yolky eggs and rich hollandaise sauce and my palate instantly awakens. For extra large appetites, I recommend adding a side of their Applewood Smoked Bacon.”
  •  “The Mango Stuffed French Toast at Rocklin’s Four Sisters Café is a dish worth waking up for. They fill a flakey croissant with sweet mango cream cheese and dip it in spiced custard before grilling and topping the masterpiece with fresh bananas, a sprinkle of toasted coconut and hot maple syrup.”
  1. I’m a sucker for the fresh-baked Biscuits and Gravy at Peg’s Glorified Ham n Eggs in Roseville. The sausage gravy is stick-to-your-ribs good, while the biscuits are soft, fluffy and buttery—just the way I like them!”
