In no particular order...

  •  “The house-made Cinnamon Roll from Sutter Street Grill is literally as big as your head! It’s the ultimate post-workout, melt-in-your-mouth, shareable treat.”
  •  “The pastries at Bakerie & Latte Chateau Arme in El Dorado Hills are the tastiest baked goods around. The hardest part is deciding between the Lemon Poppyseed, Raspberry or Blueberry Muffins, since they’re all giant, made fresh daily (i.e. never dry) and to die for.” 916-939-0834

  •  “I customize the Veggie Benedict at El Dorado Hills’ The Purple Place by adding tomato (it comes with sautéed mushrooms, spinach and three poached eggs on an English muffin) and get it served with Hash Browns. Indulgent, yet kind of healthy, the portion is big enough to eat half there and take half home.”
  •  “I always order the Chilaquiles Poblanos at Mexquite in Folsom, but ask them to hold the onions. It’s like having nachos for breakfast (crispy corn tortilla strips sautéed with tomatillo salsa and melted cheese then topped with two over-medium eggs, cilantro, sour cream and queso fresco) and will get me out of bed any day.”
  •  “For a taste of the islands, indulge in the Maui Pancakes at Mario’s Early Toast in Folsom. Made with macadamia nuts, banana and coconut, these flapjacks contain some of my favorite flavors and surprisingly aren’t overly sweet. I find myself dreaming of Maui…and these pancakes…quite frequently.”
