Help a Local Girl Receive a New Set of Lungs

Jun 15, 2015 06:33PM ● By Style
Champagne Hardesty is a local 18 year old girl in need of a double lung transplant.

At age one, Champagne was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a terminal genetic disease that has brought her lung function down to a staggering 19%.

Champagne has recently qualified and been placed on the transplant list through Stanford. This means both hope for her future, and a need for funds to secure it.

Champagne says, "
At age one I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a terminal genetic condition. Much of my life consists of breathing treatments for hours, chest percussion that shakes the life out of me four times a day, and over 45 pills…. Not every week, but every single day. Doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists are considered family because we spend so much time together. At this point, my lung function is at 19% and I am listed for a double lung transplant at Stanford University. I want you to know that I am so much more than this diagnosis. I am a young girl who loves God, family and friends. I have hopes and dreams that require me to live a long, healthy life. I hope you will join me in this amazing journey to receive lungs that will provide a new life for me."

Encore Catering "It's All About You," in conjunction with Rancho Victoria Vineyard, will be hosting a Champagne Brunch to benefit Champagne Hardesty on June 27, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Ranch Victoria Vineyard in Plymouth. All proceeds are through donation directly to COTA (Children’s Organ Transplant Association).

Enjoy a beautiful vineyard, live and silent auctions, music, a delicious brunch and champagne (of course!)--all for a great cause!
