Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I provide in-home pet sitting for people going out of town. It’s the opposite of boarding—I not only take care of the animals, but also provide security by staying in the home, getting the mail and watering plants. Besides the overnight aspect of my business, I also cater to people looking for someone to come by and walk/run their dog/s or just simply “check in” to the house. I guess you could say the business found me. It started out by watching my friends’ and family’s pets, and then I realized I might be able to turn it into something more.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

I can always guarantee the best care for your animals, because I am the staff. Most of all, I love pets and that is the number one reason I started this business. When I watch someone’s pets, they are given one-on-one attention—from the moment I walk in the door until the time I leave. Regular walks are part of my overnight pet sitting, and open communication with my clients is important—I want them to feel comfortable with emailing/texting me while they’re gone.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Becoming a whitewater rafting guide at the age of 16. I was proud of completing the training with most people being twice my age. I learned a lot about trust, teamwork, communication and responsibility. Being a leader in situations where I was taking inner city kids down the river was both challenging and fun. In those few weeks, I grew both mentally and physically.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Joe Caribe is definitely a favorite—their shrimp tacos are great!

And finally, customer service is…?

Extremely important. I want my customers to be able to trust me when they leave their home and pets in my hands. I provide excellent references and look forward to expanding my business and making more customers happy.
