Ballet Folklórico de Sacramento Comes to Harris Center in June

Ballet Folklórico de Sacramento’s repertoire includes Mexico’s traditional folkloric ballet (folklórico) dance pieces, as well as indigenous Danza rituals that fuse elements of contemporary movement.

This performance by 40 dancers and musicians will take you on a journey through the fascinating folklore of the Mexican people. Dr. Zenon Barron again creates an original masterpiece of dance choreography that captures traditions, and presents it with expressive interpretation.

México y sus Alrededores (Mexico and its Surroundings) embraces folklore, with the ritual danzas (indigenous dances) of The mexica (Aztec) people, to the courting rituals of the “Polkas” of Chihuahua, the colorful festivals “Veracruzano” of Veracruz, and much more. With live music accompaniment, this presentation will have you wanting to join the dancers on the stage and join the celebration.

Ballet Folklórico de Sacramento presents México y sus Alrededores (Mexico and its Surroundings) performs on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 3 pm. Tickets are priced at $19-$35; Premium $39; Children 12 and under are $20.

Tickets are available online at harriscenter.net or from the Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. Harris Center is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, facing East Bidwell Street.
