El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies are searching for man who made odd and alarming claims at a school in Pollock Pines Monday.

According to information released by the sheriff's office, at about 9:30 a.m. the man came on to the grounds of Pine Top Montessori School and told employees they were teaching the children "how to become terrorists."

The man also asked staff about the nationalities of the students and claimed college students are being taught how to join terrorist groups. He also said all Chinese people are terrorists, the sheriff's office reported.

The man then approached the building's front door, which was locked, and asked to be let inside. After being refused, the man returned to a white Volvo sedan and left the area. Employees called 911, but the man was gone before deputies arrived.

The man is described as white, about 55 years-old, 6-feet tall, with an average build, and gray hair.

Anyone with information regarding this person or vehicle is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (530) 621-5655.
