The El Dorado Friends of Seniors are proud to announce the opening of their 2015 Grants process. The “Friends” partnered with the El Dorado Community Foundation in 2013 and through their Friends of Seniors Fund at the El Dorado Community Foundation, they will be offering a total of $10,000.00 in support of programs and/or services to El Dorado County nonprofits serving older adults this year.

In 2014, their granting efforts supported the following nonprofits with much
needed supplies, transportation and clinical staffing.
  • Tahoe Senior Plaza
  • Senior Peer Counseling
  • El Dorado County Senior Day Care Center
  • Cameron Park Senior Day Care Center
  • El Dorado Hills Senior Day Care
  • Marshall Community Health Library
  • Partners in Care
The grant application is designed to inform the board of directors of the Friends of Seniors about who you are as an organization, what specific program or service you need assistance with and a budget to support your request. They are committed to their mission to “support the wellness, dignity and independence of El Dorado County seniors and their caregivers”, and encourage applications.

If you are a qualifying El Dorado County nonprofit, you are invited to go online to the Foundation website at eldoradocf.org to obtain more information and access an application. You can also call Kathi Lishman at 530-626-6323 with questions. Friends of Seniors reminds you that grant recipients cannot receive consecutive year grant funding. All requests must be received by 5 p.m., April 30, 2015.
