Cameron Park's Gerald Lillpop is All About Giving Back

When Gerald Lillpop moved to Cameron Park with his wife in 1999, he knew he wanted to get more involved in the community and share his skills with others.
He’d had a successful career in sales and marketing and started volunteering at nonprofits like Snowline Hospice and the Food Bank of El Dorado County. He’s currently the volunteer media coordinator for the El Dorado Arts Council (EDAC), and loves the opportunity to help keep the region’s arts scene alive.
Lillpop is especially passionate about senior outreach; shortly after his mother’s death, his father passed away after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s disease.
“Nobody is ever prepared to be the child that takes over being the parent to their parent,” Lillpop shares.
In addition to his work with the EDAC, he volunteers for the Senior Peer Counseling Program and Friends of Seniors, a nonprofit that provides area seniors with financial assistance and advocacy.
Friends of Seniors is hosting its fourth annual spaghetti feed on April 12, and Lillpop is proud to have contributed his skills to get the word out about the event.
“I’ve always felt an obligation to give back,” he explains. “I’ve had so many good things happen in my life, and I understand that there are a lot of people who haven’t been as fortunate.”
