It’s time to get outside, be active and welcome spring! With so many fun-filled programs, events and classes this month, getting some fresh air will be a breeze.

Sell your treasures (or hunt for new ones) at the Cameron Park Swap Meet on Saturday, April 18, in the parking lot of the Cameron Park Community Center from 8 a.m. to noon.
Introduce your child (ages 4-7) to the game of baseball by signing them up for Instructional T-ball; the program starts May 2.

Looking to get fit? Yoga, Zumba, tai chi, hula, ballroom dance and Bellyfit are available for adults, while hula and ballet are on tap for the tiny dancers. If music is your forte, try a ukulele or guitar class.

Aspiring chefs won’t want to miss the classes on “Pickling, Preserving and Fermentation,” “Cooking Thai Food” or “Cooking with Kids.”

Mature adults (ages 50+) can’t miss the action (including bingo, Scrabble, Mexican train, etc.) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the 50+ Room. The speaker series topic on Thursday, April 23, is “Parties & Proms” and is presented by the El Dorado Historical Society.

On April 28, don’t miss a short story discussion at 2 p.m. on The Birthmark by Nathaniel Hawthorne. In addition to these activities, Tai Chi for Better Balance and pickleball are also available for participation.

On May 3, the Spring Antique, Craft and Garden Show—an indoor/outdoor show featuring a variety of garden accessories, antiques and handmade crafts specific for the spring season—is coming to town. Admission is free.
