Washing your hands after using the restroom is always a good idea.

However, one local woman recently found that practicing good hygene at a Rocklin restaurant can also lead to a several thousand dollar loss.

According to a Rocklin Police Department, at about 7:40 a.m. March 10 a woman entered the restroom of a restaurant in the 7000 block of Lonetree Boulevard. Before washing her hands, she removed her white gold, three-diamond engagement ring and set it on the counter.

When she turned around to grab some paper towel, the ring was swiped from the counter.
Police said there were two other women in the restroom at the time, but the victim could not describe them.

The ring is valued at $5,000, police said.

Anyone with information on this theft, can call the Rocklin Police Department at
