The City of Roseville will hold two community meetings in March to update customers about proposed water and wastewater utility rate increases. 

The rate increases will offset costs of infrastructure maintenance and rehabilitation, compliance with current and future regulations, and ensure continued high quality services.  

Roseville is proposing the following approximate increases:

• Water: 8 percent in 2015 and 8.5 percent in 2016.
• Wastewater: 6 percent in 2015 and 6.5 percent in 2016.
• There is no proposed rate increase for solid waste (garbage and green waste).

If City Council approves the proposal in May, a typical residential water and wastewater utility bill would increase by approximately $4.59 as of July 1, 2015, and $5.30 as of July 1, 2016.  This is an average 4.7 percent increase for all three utilities in the first 12 months, and an additional 5 percent the following year.

Customers interested in learning about the projected increase can attend a community meeting.

Following the community meetings, the City will present the rate proposal to the Public Utilities Commission on April 28. The City Council will hold public hearings and consider the proposal at their meetings on May 6 and May 20.
