Mar 06, 2015 12:34PM ● By Brenna Mc Gowan
More than 20 local community leaders will put on their chefs’ aprons and go head-to-head in a special chili cook-off to help fund anti-bullying programs in South Placer schools.

The 2015 Roseville Celebrity Chili Cook-Off will be held on Friday, March 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Maidu Community Center in Roseville.

The chefs for 2015 include Roseville Mayor Carol Garcia, Roseville City Council Members Bonnie Gore and Pauline Roccucci, William Jessup University President John Jackson, Bayside Church Pastor Ray Johnston and Fox 40’s Paul Robins.

Proceeds will benefit local schools who will have the opportunity to participate in a Point Break Anti-Bullying Workshop.

Nearly 350 people are expected to attend and organizers are continuing to recruit sponsors for the event.

“The community will gather for a fun food competition, but the donations from the event will have a profound and lasting impact on our community,” said Rob Maxey, director of the anti-bullying campaign Point Break. “Bullying has devastating long term effects on children as they grow older, and we believe we can make a big difference in stopping such destructive behavior.”

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at RosevilleChili.com or by calling (916) 869-8835 or visiting us on Facebook at 2015 Roseville Celebrity Chili Cook-off.
