Roseville Police trainees recently stepped up to demonstrate the city's Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving program in action.

Roseville Heights/Historic Old Roseville officer Jim Aguirre had identified a large chunk of concrete in the area that was quickly becoming a problem. The concrete was being used as a gathering place for people to loiter, drink and otherwise cause problems in the community. 

The property owner had tried to have it removed, but was unable to because it was reinforced with steel, making it a very difficult job. 

Roseville Police trainees Joe Patton and Adaris Wilson sprung into action and recently gather a group of friends and got to work, breaking the concrete apart with sledgehammers and hauling it away.

"Joe and Adaris are still 10 days away from starting police academy, but we think they're already ‪#‎RPDStrong‬," said a post on the city of Roseville Public Safety Facebook page.
