FREE Donor Appreciation & Grand Opening Event for Food Bank of El Dorado County March 20

Check it out El Dorado County! Your local Food Bank is busy gearing up for a FREE Grand Opening and Community Appreciation night!
On March 20th, 2015, at 4550 Business Drive in Cameron Park, the Food Bank will partner with the El Dorado Winery Association to showcase the new facility in Cameron Park and say “thank you” to the community that made the charity what it is today.
Featuring 20 local wineries, food, and live music, this event will be the talk of the town. What’s even better is that it is free and everyone is invited!
The Food Bank of El Dorado County was established in 2000 by a handful of compassionate community members.
El Dorado County was one of a few counties in the state that did not have a full service food bank. From a grassroots humble beginning, teamed with communities throughout El Dorado County, your local food bank has become the county’s largest collaborative charity providing emergency food assistance through a network of 35 Emergency Food Response Agencies including food closets, children’s homes, senior programs, soup kitchens, women shelters, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs, and more.
In 2014 alone the Food Bank’s volunteers, financial supporters, product donors, and the Emergency Food Assistance Network solicited, procured, warehoused and distributed over 3.5 million dollars’ worth of food to communities throughout El Dorado County.
In 2014 the Food Bank provided a six to one return on donor’s contributions. Every dollar donated was leveraged into six.
The Food Bank is committed to keeping cost down through volunteerism and making sure that contributions are being used as efficiently as possible in a rural setting like El Dorado County. Food Bank staff, the Board of Directors, volunteers and contributors are all focused on one thing and that is simply feeding the folks and providing emergency food assistance to our neighbors who struggle to make ends meet.
So if you are looking for a local non-profit to help out with, then come check out the Food Bank for yourself. Take a look at the operations, meet the people involved. Faith based organizations, local businesses, service clubs, schools, law enforcement, fire departments, families and individuals all working together for one common cause, compassion for fellow human beings.
