Friends of the Folsom Library Book Sale March 13-15

Feb 27, 2015 06:18PM ● By Brenna Mc Gowan

The Friends of the Folsom Library will hold its next semi-annual book sale on the weekend of March 13-15 in the Folsom Library. These popular sales offer thousands of gently used books at rock-bottom prices.

The weekend begins with early-bird night Friday, March 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission is $5 for the opportunity to choose from the best selection (Friends members get in free).

Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15, are free admission; hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Sunday is the Friends’ popular "bag day" – fill a grocery-size sack with as many books as you can squeeze in for only $5 – with even better specials as the day draws to a close. No limit on the number of bags you can buy.

All books at the sale are donations in excellent condition, and you can't beat the prices: $1 for hardback and trade (soft cover) fiction; $2 for hardback nonfiction; $1.50 for nonfiction trades; 50 cents for pocket books (a new lower price). All children's books are just 50 cents. A few specialty items may be marked slightly higher.

The Friends is a nonprofit corporation whose sole mission is to support the Folsom Public Library. The Friends donations pay for most of the programming the patrons enjoy – from toddler storytimes to special senior activities. In the past two decades, the Friends have raised more than a quarter-million dollars for library materials and programs.

The book sales and its BOOKtique bookstore inside the library are the Friends' primary fundraisers. Every penny earned benefits the Folsom Library.
