High school sports site MaxPreps has announced that the Folsom Bulldogs football team has been named to the 10th Annual MaxPreps Football Tour of Champions Presented by the Army National Guard.
The honor goes to the top 50 high school teams in the nation.
"Given the fact that nearly 17,000 varsity teams compete, that puts the Bulldogs in the top one-fifth of 1 percent of teams in the country," said a release on the MaxPreps site.
To be considered for the honor, teams must be nationally ranked and also have won their state championship. Folsom beat Oceanside 68-7 for the state title in December, capping off a perfect 16-0 season.
The school will celebrate the the honor in the Folsom High gym at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26.
