Shannen Park of Roseville is one busy lady.

Before bed each night the mother of two packs her kids' lunches, set out their clothes, readies her gym bag and plans out her next day. Park is no ordinary mom, though, she's the self-described "Ninja Mom," who is preparing for her shot at becoming the next American Ninja Warrior.

"I never knew about American Ninja Warrior until my friend told me about it year ago.  I started watching the show last summer and was instantly hooked," Park said. "I began training at the The Studio Martial Arts & Fitness  in Roseville, then traveled to different cities to try other ninja obstacle courses."

American Ninja Warrior is an NBC television show based on a hit Japanese show that pits competitors against a grueling obstacle course. Finalists from across the country compete on an even more intense course in Las Vegas for a prize of $500,000.

Park will get her shot at the title when she tries out for the show March 13-14 in Venice Beach. She said has been inspired by Kacy Catanzaro — the first woman to ever qualify for the show's final competition.

"I knew I wanted to try out for the show to prove that women can do it and moms can too," Park said. "I want to inspire others, especially women, moms and daughters to believe that you can accomplish anything if you work hard and never give up."

How Park finds the time to train may seem like a mystery. After all, on top of her 20 hour per week fitness regiment Park and her husband, Tony, also own Rivers Edge Cafe in Sacramento.

"I make it my priority to train for American Ninja Warrior. I set goals, I make plans and I execute," she said. "...  I wake up at 6am and conquer my day!  I also have a very supportive husband, family and friends that help me achieve my goals."

In addition to her training at Studio Martial Arts & Fitness in Roseville, Park can also be spotted working out at Free Flow Academy of Hybrid Arts in Rocklin and Apex Movement NorCal in Concord.
