Placer SPCA is seeking nominations for the 2015 Hero Awards, to be presented at the 14th annual Funny Bones Comedy and Awards Night on Friday, March 27.

Do you know a person, animal, organization or business in Placer County that has gone above and beyond to demonstrate how strong the human-animal bond can be? Nominate them for a Placer SPCA Hero Award! Placer SPCA wants to recognize those individuals for their heartfelt and courageous efforts. Nomination forms and event tickets are available at www.placerspca.org/funnybones.

Previous years’ heroes included a man who rescued an injured dog and raised money to pay for its surgery, a service dog that helps its owner cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and a woman who witnessed a homeless man’s dog get hit by a car and raised money to cover the medical expenses.

Funny Bones includes a comedy show, full dinner, silent and live auctions, and the Hero Awards presentation. Those interested in attending Funny Bones are encouraged to act quickly, as tickets typically sell out prior to the event. Individual tickets can be purchased for $75 if purchased by February 28, or $100 if purchased on or after March 1. This year’s event will be held at the Timber Creek Ballroom at Sun City, Roseville (7050 Del Webb Blvd., Roseville) on Friday, March 27 from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.

All proceeds from the event benefit Placer SPCA, an independent local nonprofit organization.  Sponsorships are available. For more information, please contact our Development Department at  (916) 742-2071 or visit www.placerspca.org/funnybones.
