Free Admission to Maidu Museum & Historic Site February 7 for Sacramento Museum Day and More!

Sacramento Museum Day at Maidu Museum: The Maidu Museum & Historic Site is participating in the 17th Annual Sacramento Museum Day by offering FREE admission and fun activities all day on Saturday, February 7, 9 - 4 p.m.

Bring the whole family to enjoy Maidu's contemporary art galleries, interactive exhibits, petroglyphs, bedrock mortar holes, native plants and animals. Hands-on activities for children include acorn grinding, bracelet making and trying the scavenger hunt. Free guided tours at 10 a.m. & 1 p.m.

Night Out at the Museum: Please join Maidu Museum & Historic Site for a very special Night Out at the Museum on Saturday, February 21, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

The Maidu Museum & Historic Site is celebrating the 5th anniversary of its Grand Opening! They will have an opening reception and artists’ talk for Let’s Fix Our World, a new exhibit from artist Charley Burns and Framescapes: Images from the Construction of the Maidu Museum, the black and white photography of Wayne Olts.

Charley Burns is a Yurok artist from the Humboldt County, Klamath River area. Wayne Olts is a professor of anthropology at Folsom Lake College.

Museum doors open at 6:30 p.m. Program starts at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be available. FREE event.
