Jan 10, 2015 02:20PM ● By Brenna Mc Gowan
El Dorado Arts Council presents Focal Point, a photography and 3D juried art show, now through March 3.

Participating artists include Agi Gillespie, Anca Statescu, Anton Nemeth, Ashley Pfister, Betty Sederquist, Cindy Stephens, Jennifer Lotery, Ken Mahar, Paul Cockrell, and Terri Crisp.

When asked about her 3D creations, Pfister said, “I like to call them ‘Tag-alongs.’ You may have mistaken them for monsters. I have been fortunate to have met a spectrum of people in my life and have learned they we all have these 'things' we acquire along life’s journey. I like communicating that commonality with humor through ceramics.”

Photographer Terri Crisp finds her photography subjects from all over the planet. “I have had the good fortune to travel extensively outside the United States—my camera always in tow. Where I end up is places most people choose not to go. It’s in those isolated corners of the world where I’ve seen animals and people I want to remember forever,” said Crisp. “But it doesn’t stop there. I feel I have an obligation to go a step further and share my photos withthose I suspect would want to share what I have seen.”

Artist reception and presentation of awards will be held on 3rd Saturday Art Walk, January 17, from 3 - 8 p.m. People’s Choice Award will be presented on 3rd Saturday Art Walk, February 21, 3 - 8 p.m. El Dorado Arts Council’s Fausel House Gallery is open Tuesday – Fridays, 12 - 6 p.m.and every 3rd Saturday.
