If winter has you singing the blues, step out of your house and into the Winter Blues Bash on Saturday, January 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Roseville Utility Exploration Center (1501 Pleasant Grove Boulevard). This is the event’s inaugural year, and it plans to be both fun and educational. Guests can learn about healthy outdoor habitats through crafts, games and bug viewers, as well as build a bluebird vacation home for their own yard. The goal of the bash—sponsored by the City of Roseville Environmental Utilities and Roseville Electric Utility—is to “...teach the community how to keep local watersheds clean,” explains Brett Salmi with the Roseville Utility Exploration Center. In addition to the family-friendly activities, guests will help kick off the Community Art Garden, in conjunction with Blue Line Arts. The event is free, but a $10 materials fee is required for those who wish to participate in the bluebird vacation home activity. “It’s tough to be stuck inside all winter. Come out to help brighten a gloomy time of year!” encourages Salmi. For more information, call 916-746-1550 or email [email protected].
