Varela and his soaring voice have been turning heads around the world,
including as the feature tenor in America’s Got Talent finalist
“Forte.”
He will perform an intimate night of popular and opera classics at Harris Center/Three Stages at Folsom Lake College on Sunday, September 14, at 2 p.m. The matinee is almost sold-out; a limited number of single tickets are still available. Fernando Varela
has established himself as a rising star on dual horizons of opera and
popular music. Varela was already making waves in the Florida opera
community when he won David Foster’s “Born to Sing” contest. The
super-producer invited him to appear on the PBS special Hitman: David
Foster and Friends (2012), followed by an Asian tour of the show.
Varela achieved major media acclaim as a member of “Forte” when the trio
of tenors earned a fourth-place finish on season eight of America’s
Got Talent. Forte has since recorded a self-titled debut album for
Columbia Records. Varela has recorded three solo albums on the Vincero
label: Dare to Live, Prelude and Inspiration. He has been under
the tutelage of renowned vocal coaches Cesar Ulloa, Giancarlo
Chiaramello (Pavarotti’s music director) and Plácido Domingo. This tour
features Varela in an intimate trio format, backed by piano and
violin.
The Folsom Lake Community Concert Association (“FLCCA”) has been presenting internationally acclaimed artists to the community since 1994. The organization grew from a commitment to serve the community and enrich the cultural life of Folsom. Thanks to the generosity of Patrons and Sponsors, these concerts can be offered at affordable, family friendly prices.
Live On Stage, Inc. provides excellent, affordable, entertainment attractions and support services to an American community of concert presenters.
