Q: What are some tips to extend the life of my floral arrangements?
A: A lot of folks don’t realize this, but it is not the lack of water that dries out your flowers…it is the dry air. Flowers are like our skin – they need moisture. People who have purchased flowers from me know they are always dripping wet! After buying flowers, cut them under water with a sharp knife, place them in your vase and sprinkle warm water over them. You will see a drastic change in their longevity. Also, always change the water daily and add a drop or two of bleach to the water. Furthermore, keep your flowers away from all vents. Just remember, water is the key around your flowers, especially warm water!
