Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

NanniesGalore.com is a venue Web site where parents can search free for a nanny or babysitter anywhere in the United States. Caregivers can post a free resume and photo to be placed in the search results. The site is designed for busy parents who do not have the tools or resources necessary to find quality daycare. Full caregiver information is available to parents who join for an affordable fee. Parents then contact the caregiver of their choice, interview and hire, if desired.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I recently completed “Faith in Crisis/Trauma” training through the Sacramento Law Enforcement Chaplaincy and was ordained as a “Courage To Be You” chaplain. This will allow me to be present when children in Sacramento are rescued from sex trafficking.  I am also honored to have played an important role in the National Child Abuse Prevention Month Campaign held here in Sacramento with child advocate Marc Klaas.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I worked hard for my bachelors and masters degrees, but I am most proud of the adoption of my beautiful daughter from Kazakhstan and the fact that I am raising her alone in this tough economy.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My brother is my role model in business and life; when he sees something he wants, he works hard to get it.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I go to the movies and get lost in someone else’s story for two hours.

What’s your hidden talent?

I have been known to sing pretty well; but I am no American Idol!

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

My daughter and I see every cartoon movie that is released in the theater! We love miniature golfing and we hold season passes to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.

And finally, customer service is…?

Listening to the customer and respecting what they have to say. The customer is the reason we are in business.

Do you know that our editorial is not paid for, nor can it be purchased? In fact, our Introducing and Dine reviews are not paid advertisements. If you’d like your business profiled, please email Wendy Sipple at [email protected]. Once we determine when your business will be featured, we will contact you to schedule a time to come out and take a photograph. Thank you!
